Golfers Ball of Confusion | The
Inventor ]
THE
INVENTOR
The
inventor, Miro “Babe” Bellagamba, taught people
how to play golf for nearly three decades. He has gained the
attention of youngsters, amateurs and pros from Florida to
Iowa to Germany and points in between. Bellagamba has been
called a “borderline genius.”
Because
of his diverse background in athletics including a US Navy
featherweight boxer, Baseball and Football player he learned
something from each sport that he applied to golf. He had
an understanding of the anatomy through his work with physical
therapists, how the body works and which muscles and movements
contribute to the action of swinging a golf club. “The
turn of the body is what gives you power in boxing,”
he says. “It’s the same in golf!
Babe invented
innovative products that provided students with instant feel
and through correct repetitions were designed to eliminate
improper body movements in each sequence of the golf swing.
Instructional aids that made it easy for the golf instructor
by eliminating repetitive visual and verbal explanations and
providing students with instant understanding.
His
first patented invention in the late 80’s was first
full circle swing adjustable machine S.A.M. The first full
circle swing trainer for beginning golfers to help them learn
the up, down and around golf swing on a controlled single
golf swing plane. Two systems were offered, a full circle
basic model plus a deluxe model that included sway bars, a
head stabilizer, line-up bars and a stretch cord that attached
to the club for resistance. The system has been duplicated
and modified versions have been produced by companies worldwide
for over 25 years calling it the Sam 2000, Perfect Swing Trainer,
the Super Swing Trainer, the Explainer, and more.
As the
years progressed Babe gave each body part a job description
in each position of the golf swing, and incorporated features
into his new patented inventions that forced each body part
to work in unison and in the correct position throughout each
sequence of the golf swing.
The Spine-A-Lin’r,
an upper back posture enforcer was designed to force the upper
body, arms and shoulders to work as one unit with less emphasis
on the hands and arms. The unit enforces correct posture,
holding your shoulders back with less pressure on the lower
spine. Elastic resistance provides resistance to strengthen
and increase shoulder turn and flexibility of the upper back!
Babe’s
final brainstorm was the Golf Workstation, an all-inclusive
golf muscle training and posture control system. The Workstation
uses resistance to develop and coordinate the muscles needed
during the golf swing while at the same time eliminates the
bad habits. The
golf workstation used in conjunction with the Spine-A-Lin’r
provides a student with the means to develop and coordinate
the turning of the body with the swinging of the arms correctly.
Babe possessed
one of the most innovative and inventive golf instructional
philosophies in the world. It all begins with this basic premise:
“Everything
is about controlling the body.” If you control your
body, you’ll control the golf club. If you control the
golf club, you’ll control the golf ball. If you can
control the ball, you’ll be in control of your game.
